Empower your kids!

If THEY  lead, they will OWN the process!

Dear Parents,

Here you are at a crossroads with your child. You have spent many years helping your child prepare for the future and are ready (or almost ready) to let them leave the nest. It happened more quickly than you imagined, and here you are wanting the best college outcome for your child. It is all about ensuring a bright and rewarding future! As a mom, I understand that you want your child to soar, and that means matching the student to tailored programs, not just names on a brochure.

You have come to this website for help and guidance, and as a parent I can tell you that I was in the same place as you are, with three children who were raised in the same way, yet so different in their talents. This made for a very interesting house filled with sports equipment, musical instruments, and ballet gear. This also made for a wide college search taking me all over the country to find just the "right" schools.

I am sure you remember important moments unique to your family, whether they be at a special event, on a walk through a park or museum, or on a subway or bus ride at home or on vacation. Your child embraced some of what you exposed them to and rejected other things. Now, your "young adult" is questioning and challenging what the next steps should be, which is natural. You have done a good job! One child may be nervous or apprehensive about the process, while another student may hit the ground running. You have opinions as to what direction your child should go in, and your child has opinions. It is time to "hear" what your child has to say. I will also be there to listen and guide.

I know you have come to this site because you want the best outcome for your child. Hopefully, I can go along this journey with you and celebrate with your family in the near future. I believe that if we work as a team, the student will benefit, and everyone will be able to sleep at night (or at least the adults). Your child will take the lead, and I will be by their side. You will be involved as well.

We will meet to discuss your family's needs and move on from there. My goal is to showcase the person behind the transcript and activities--introducing the admissions team to who your child is and why they will be a great addition to their campus. As a parent you will know you engaged in a process to make your child stand out.

In the meantime, make sure you to take a look at some of the helpful websites below.

Looking forward to talking with you sooner than later.

Best,

Deb
